I sold Newsletterytics.
This was the first app that made me money on the internet.
Five dollars. The first five dollars of a subscription I actually got.
I started working on it two years ago. Released it a little later. Grew it organically to the number one spot for the Beehiiv keyword.
The product is simple. You connect your Beehiiv newsletter and you see the stats in the app and on a home-screen widget. Opens, clicks, subscribers, growth.
This year I added Mailchimp. That did not help the app grow as much as I wanted.
Two years of history that was quite interesting.
I sold it for a 1.1 multiple. That's 1.1 times ARR.
When I listed it, the multiple was 1.5 or 1.7. But the app grew so much during the three weeks I had it on the listing site.
I listed it on TrustMRR, which is by Marc Lou.
I sold it for $4,000.
The app was doing around $200 MRR on average during the past months. I would say even less, but this month was over $300 in revenue.
This is not life-changing money, of course. But it gives me a clearer path for what I am doing.
I tried to work with the Beehiiv team. I tried to tell them they might want this application.
That's not my case anymore. Maybe the new buyer will do it. I don't know.
I talked about it on Fired by Robots with Aivars. We record the podcast weekly.
Aivars called me out because he told me this did not sound like focus.
He was right.
I am in this stage right now where I am decluttering everything and narrowing down. VidNotes and B2B automations stay. Newsletterytics was one of the branches I needed to close.
I thought that would take a week. After a week of doing it on top of client work, I think it will take a month.
I am very sentimental about this application. But in business you cannot be sentimental. You should focus. Business is business.
That's three apps sold now. Aividly, Rhava, Newsletterytics.
The app stays on the App Store. I just don't own it.
I still show the ones I sold. Same as Aividly. Someone bought it. That's the proof.
VidNotes, Teleprompter, Coldsmith, and YapperX stay because I still run them.
